I was recently passed this article from the Guardian by a client. Being a sufferer of ‘IBS’ myself I thought it was a great read.
The distinction between proper allergies and sensitivities are strong. Those with the latter will often experience symptoms a while after the trigger food or maybe only if larger quantities have been ingested.
Deciding to be GF for general health however doesn’t have overwhelming evidence behind it. Sensitivities are on a very individual level and need to be assessed and treated as such . As for calorie control, the GF alternatives are often more calorie dense.
