About Pro-Align Physiotherapy in Ruddington

Helping you move with confidence, strength, and understanding

My Story – From Injury to Empowerment

My journey into physiotherapy began with my own injury story. I was a dancer for most of my life, right up until an ACL rupture ended my professional career. The care I received at the time was poor: a misdiagnosis, ineffective rehab, and a lingering sense that something was missing.

That experience forced me to take ownership of my recovery, to learn how my body really worked, and to rebuild myself through movement. It wasn’t easy, but it sparked what has become a lifelong passion: understanding the body in a holistic way: body, mind, and spirit.

I’ve lived with chronic pain for over 20 years, and that has given me enormous empathy for my clients. It’s also driven me to keep learning, questioning, and exploring how the body communicates and heals. I love movement. I love the human body. And I love helping others reconnect with theirs.

The Journey of Pro-Align

I established Pro-Align in 2006 while living in Sydney. It started as an outdoor personal training and corrective exercise business, working primarily with adults aged 40+ who wanted to improve their strength, mobility, and confidence. By 2010, I had grown the business to include full Pilates-based movement classes, combining physiotherapy principles, functional training, and breath work.

For nearly two decades, I worked with hundreds of loyal clients, many of whom stayed with me right up until I moved back to the UK in 2024. Those years shaped not just my professional expertise, but my belief that movement is medicine, and that education and self-awareness are the most powerful tools for long-term change.

Now, here in Ruddington, I’m rebuilding Pro-Align with the same heart and purpose: helping people move better, feel better, and understand their bodies.

My Mission

At Pro-Align Physiotherapy, my goal is to support clients on their journey through chronic pain, movement challenges, and emotional blocks. I want you to understand why your pain exists and how to take ownership of your recovery.

I want my clients to walk away saying, “Finally, someone understands what I’m feeling.”

Together, we build self-awareness, strength, and confidence, helping you move independently, with ease and joy, well into later life.

My Values

  • Support and empathy – creating a safe, compassionate space for healing
  • Education and awareness – helping you understand your body and your patterns
  • Time and attention – you are heard, seen, and supported
  • Consistency and growth – I’m always learning, evolving, and sharing that knowledge

My Experience and Qualifications

I’ve been working as a physiotherapist since 2002, and I’m a registered member of the HCPC and CSP. My qualifications include:

  • BScHons  Physiotherapy
  • Certified Personal Trainer (ACSM)
  • Mat and Reformer Pilates Instructor (APPI)
  • CHEK Institute HLC Practitioner
  • Extensive training in Anatomy in Motion (AiM), Craniosacral Therapy, Visceral Manipulation, and Functional Rehabilitation.

I’ve presented at many national and international conferences including FILEX in Australia four times, FITEX New Zealand, and numerous dance teacher conferences, including RAD, Cecchetti, VDF, CYD, BAL, and IDTA. I continue to present internationally for AiM and have assisted leading educators such as Gary Ward, Jill Miller, ViPR and APPI.

I’m also incredibly proud of my professional dance career, which ran from age eight to twenty-eight, and of my work with S4D, my educational platform for dancers.

My Approach – Blending Science and Soul

What makes my approach different is the blend of clinical precision, education, and holistic understanding. My classes and treatments combine:

  • Pilates method and physiotherapy rehab
  • Functional training and fascial release
  • Breath work and safe mobility
  • Hands-on correction, individual guidance and attention to detail

Each class is supportive, safe, and empowering. Every session is an opportunity to explore movement, gain awareness, and rediscover what your body is capable of.
