A stable shoulder complex (scapula and rib wall) will provide the ability for easy motion of the shoulder joint and therefore arm. Optimal timing and positioning of the scapula is essential in shoulder joint health and preventing injuries to the rotator cuff. Reduced scapular mechanics go hand in hand with pain and dysfunction in the shoulder joint.
