I recently read this article on the ‘detox’. We can barely walk past a shop or read a magazine without being ‘advised’ on how to detox from our toxic environment. Drinks, diets, sachets, fasts, colonics etc; but are we being conned? Does the body ‘detox’ effectively enough by itself. Will a box of ‘detox’tea really make any difference?
Although I would agree, the body is well equipped to maintain equilibrium, there are none the less many lifestyle habits that we adopt that makes this process more difficult for the body’s systems and therefore work the body’s to the limits. Once a threshold is crossed we then see signs of disease or burnout.
I’m sure a life of moderation; no smoking, minimal alcohol, plenty of water and limited ingestion of processed foods, will be the best option however to assist the body with its ability to detox naturally. It is a long term life choice however, not just a quick fix 7 day ‘cleanse’.
I hope you enjoy….
